Editor Marilyn Cummins is an agricultural journalist, strategic marketer and project manager with broad experience gained over the past four decades. She has created and edited content of all types, from magazines and newsletters to technical and scientific journal articles to social media and direct-marketing campaigns.

From 2000 to 2016, she managed the communications award programs for the Agricultural Communications Network (formerly American Ag Editors Association), helping create the MarComm and Digital & Social Media divisions and guiding the transition to today’s online entry and judging process.

Marilyn helped start the careers of many of today’s leading ag journalists as the instructor and program coordinator for the Agricultural Journalism program of the College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR); University of Missouri-Columbia, 2000-2004, and mentored student interns for many years after that.

For the past decade with Red Barn Media Group, she has led written content creation and editing for client magazines, brochures, new product launches, farmer-customer videos, engineering award entries, event displays, and an award-winning history book for Fendt.
